An unidentified body was found near a Santa Cruz County pier Thursday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office.
A resident reported seeing a body in the ocean near the pier at Seacliff State Beach about 1:30 p.m., the sheriff's office said.
The body was recovered from the ocean but has not been identified.
The sheriff's office had been searching that area late last week after a missing teen's bicycle was found nearby.
Nate Phillips, 17, has been missing since Dec. 2 and his bicycle was found near Center Avenue and Seacliff Drive at about 10 p.m. last Thursday.
