Construction Starts On Golden Gate Bridge

Construction crews will be on the Golden Gate Bridge today getting started on a new renovation project. The San Francisco Examiner says crews are putting up scaffolding to start work on the bridge's cable renovation project.

The work will cause trouble for cyclists going over the bridge. The scaffolding will narrow the bikes-only sidewalk to 7 ft. meaning many cyclists may have to walk their bikes over the middle section of the bridge.

Phase one of the renovation project will last a few weeks. Crews are working to re-coat the bridge's cables.
