A man who drives an orange van is wanted by San Francisco police for allegedly trying to lure a teenage girl into his vehicle, according to reports.

The teen was waiting for a bus at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Newhall Street and Palou Avenue when a Latino man between 27 and 30 years old with dark skin, a skinny build and long black hair drove up to her in an orange van, according to the San Francisco Appeal online newspaper.

The man asked the girl in Spanish to get in so he could give her a ride, police said. The girl refused, so the man attempted to drag her inside. She escaped, and reported the incident later that night.

Witnesses said he was wearing beige pants and an orange T-shirt. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
