A motorcylcist died this afternoon in a crash in unincorporated Contra Costa County east of Pinole, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Bear Creek Road near Pereira Road, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
The motorcycle rider appeared to have lost control of the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that no other vehicles were involved, Bartlett said.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
