Fisherman and 7-Year-Old Rescued

Two men and a 7-year-old boy this morning were rescued from a stranded fishing boat near Bodega Bay, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The fishing party was reported missing on Saturday after they failed to return to shore as planned, Coast Guard officials said.

A helicopter and 47-foot Coast Guard lifeboat were launched to search for the missing trio, who were quickly located onboard their disable boat.

The Coast Guard ship towed the vessel to shore. No one was injured.

Coast Guard officials are reminding boaters to leave a float plan with contacts on shore, so that the destination, launch location, travel plan and return time are known in case of emergency.
