Hayward Founder of Children's Charity Sentenced for Child Porn

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A San Francisco Bay Area man who helped create a children's charity has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison on child pornography charges.

Bay Area News Group reported Wednesday that 60-year-old Craig Patrick Burt of Hayward, California was sentenced Monday for receiving child pornography and traveling to the Philippines with the intent to engage sexually with underage girls, according to the Department of Justice.

Burt helped create the Children's Grace learning center, a charity for underprivileged children living in the Philippines, in 2007, the newspaper reported.

Police arrested Burt in February when he attempted to re-enter the United States at the San Francisco International Airport.

Burt was charged with four counts of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking, sex trafficking, receipt or distribution of child pornography and travel with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
