Husband and wife complied, assailants still shot the man multiple times.

Couple Surrenders Valuables, Husband Still Shot in Robbery

Hayward police are investigating an overnight armed robbery that sent one person to the hospital.

At 11:15pm last night a husband and wife left the Hayward BART station and were walking down Tennyson Road when they were approached by two male suspects.

One of the suspects wielded a gun and demanded the victims' wallet and purse, both victims did as they were told. After the husband handed over his wallet the armed suspect shot him several times, then both suspects fled the scene.

The male victim was transported to Eden Medical Center and is in stable condition this morning. The suspect’s are described as males in their late teens or early 20’s, both wearing white t-shirts and dark colored pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hayward police.
