Jerry Rice Questions Crabtree Impact

49ers home-opener Sunday

Jerry Rice questions what kind of impact Michael Crabtree could have this season with San Francisco if the No. 10 draft pick even shows up and actually plays for the 49ers.

Crabtree, the former Texas Tech star who is the NFL's final draftee yet to sign, is seeking money more comparable to that of higher picks and the sides are still far apart. Team president Jed York has said he recently tried to schedule a face-to-face meeting with Crabtree and his representatives but hadn't heard back.

Rice, on the field at Candlestick Park before Sunday's Seahawks-49ers game, says Crabtree is "way behind." Rice himself was a holdout as a rookie but insists he never would have considered missing time in the regular season.

The Niners and Seahawks are both 1-0, having each won division games in their openers last week. San Francisco beat the Cardinals 20-16 and Seattle topped St. Louis 28-0 in Week One.

This is the 21st meeting between San Francisco and Seattle with the series dating back to 1976. The Seahawks lead the series 11-9 and won the last meeting 34-13, a game at Candlestick where 49ers Head Coach Mike Singletary made his debut as interim Head Coach last season.

49ers inactives for the game include (3rd QB) Nate Davis, (CB) Marcus Hudson, (S) Curtis Taylor, (LB) Ahmad Brooks, (C) Cody Wallace, (WRs) Brandon Jones and Jason Hill along with (DT) Ricky Jean Francois. The Seahawks report that (DT) Craig Terrill will start in place of former Cal Bear Brandon Mebane.
