Kevin Rose Leaving Digg

Kevin Rose confirmed the rumors Friday evening on Twitter, that he is leaving Digg.

"I’ll “continue advising Digg / on the board of directors, & taping Diggnation (as i have been since [Willaims] joined)," Rose tweeted.

TechCrunch noted last week that Rose was not using the service much these days, and apparently it's because he's been focusing on a new project.

TechCruch's Mike Arrington says Rose is leaving to work on a new startup he's created and is close to securing a $1 million deal for the new venture.

Rose founded Digg in 2004. At its peak, the site had more than 40 million unique monthly visitors, however last year hit a decline in traffic after a bug filled update was rolled out.
