Levi's Stadium Promoted As World Cup-Quality Soccer Venue

Football stadium could also be a football -- that is, soccer -- venue.

Come for the football -- stay for the futbol.

The San Francisco 49ers' new home, the $1.3 billion Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, could soon become a top venue for the world's best soccer players, according to reports.

The Business Times tells us of a contract signed this week between the Niners and the San Jose Earthquakes to promote the home of the 49ers for the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Wrestle Mania is already on its way, after all.

The Quakes have their own new home on the way, a $60 million facility dedicated to hosting soccer. But big draws -- like the above-mentioned European clubs, which are some of the most-recognized, most-valuable sporting franchises in the world -- would need a bigger venue.

So, "new outbound sales efforts" are underway to make sure that the draw is known.
