A Larkspur teenager trained in martial arts used physical force to fend off attackers while on her bicycle, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
The girl, a 15-year old tutor, said she was approached by an attacker at 5 p.m. Friday on the Ward Street bike path in the North Bay town, according to the newspaper. The attacker punched her in the face, but she fought back with a shot to the groin, the newspaper said.
A second robber appeared, and the girl fled.
She did not initially report the incident to police but did tell her boyfriend, who in turn left a note on the door of a school resource officer, according to the newspaper.
The robbers are described as white teens between 16 and 20 years old.
