The defending U.S. Open champion is leaving his clubs in the bag tonight, to take a shot at another sport.

Rory McIlroy, 23, of Northern Ireland, will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Tuesday night's Giants game against the Houston Astros.

Not coincidentally, it's also Irish Heritage Night at AT&T Park.

In true Giants fashion, the team will honor McIlroy with his very own bobblehead doll.

All special event ticket holders will get to bring a bobblehead home.

McIlroy says tonight's game will be a nice break from overthinking about his golf game.

The Giants game starts at 7:15  p.m.
