Missing Woman Last Seen by Roommate in Unincorporated Hayward

Alameda County sheriff's officials have been searching for a 66-year-old woman who was reported missing by her roommate in unincorporated Hayward.

Maxine McQuillan was last seen by her roommate at their home in the 24900 block of Second Street in unincorporated Hayward around 7 a.m. on July 6, sheriff's officials said.

The roommate reported her disappearance on Aug. 7.

She had left with a purse and a backpack filled with clothes. She walked away from the home and is known to use AC Transit and BART to get around, officials said.

According to investigators, McQuillan was in the Fremont area several times during July when she went to the Chase Bank on Fremont Boulevard.

Family members have told authorities that McQuillan may have medical issues and could be suffering from mental illness.

She is described as a white woman with green eyes and blonde hair. She stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.
