A teenager in Novato was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly crashed the vehicle he was driving while drunk, injuring himself and all of his passengers.

The boy, whose name is not revealed, was driving a Mitsubishi Endeavor on Sutro Avenue in Novato at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. He drove through a T-intersection at between 60 to 80 mph, according to the California Highway Patrol, and went off the road.

He hit a fire hydrant, tree, and then landed in a ditch, according to the Marin Independent Journal. One girl suffered a broken jaw and lost some teeth. Another boy suffered a head wound. Both were taken to an area medical center for observation and treatment. Another girl suffered "hip pain," the newspaper reported.

One of the girls was riding on a passenger's lap and was not wearing a seatbelt. All other riders were restrained properly. The driver was arrested on DUI and reckless driving charges
