A ballroom dance competitor is in trouble with police in Novato for allegedly engaging in "sexual activity with a teenage girl," according to reports.

Richard Alan Selby III, 24, of Modesto, was booked into Marin County Jail for "suspicion of oral copulation with a 16- or 17-year old girl," the Marin Independent Journal.

He also is charged with sending a "lewd transmission to a minor." Selby is being held without bail.

The alleged incident occurred April 25 at a dance studio on Digital Drive in Bel Marin Keys, according to reports. Police became involved on May 10.

Selby allegedly sent a "lewd transmission... [which] did not include photographs" to the minor before the alleged crime, according to police.

He is supposedly a West Coast Swing dancer and was a student at the studio where the incident is alleged to have occurred, according to reports.
