SJ Officer Shoots, Kills Man

A 911 call for a suspicious person ends with that person being shot and killed by police.

One person was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex in San Jose Sunday.

Three San Jose police officers were called to the complex on the 400 block of Wooster Avenue around 11:45 a.m. on a report of a suspicious person armed with a firearm, Officer Jose Garcia said.

The officers located and contacted the male suspect in the rear parking lot of the complex, but something happened that caused at least one officer to feel threatened.

The officer fired his gun, wounding the suspect. Paramedics were called, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, Garcia said. The shooting remains under investigation.
