Welcome the E-Embarcadero -- but don't wait for a streetcar yet. They're not coming for another year.
Beginning in 2015, historic streetcars will rumble along the waterfront from Caltrain to Fisherman's Wharf, as the The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has agreed to begin funding the cars next summer, according to the Market Street Railway website.
Merchant and business groups pushed for a July 1, 2014 rollout, but the money wasn't there.
Weekend service will begin in 2015, with trains running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In 2016, the service will go full-time, according to the website.

In the meantime, the historic streetcars from Europe and various American cities will begin rolling more often on Market Street almost immediately: "within a month or two," vintage cars will arrive on Market Street every five minutes instead of every six.
