A San Jose man is warning his neighbors after he said he was attacked in his own driveway.

At around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Davar Khales said a masked man came after him with a bat in front of his home on Jeremie Drive in Almaden Valley. According to My Neighbord Update, the immediate neighborhood has seen one violent crime and five property crimes in the last month.

"I just happened to turn to my left and saw him right there with a mask, a cloth with two holes and a baseball," he said. "I'm backing away, trying to protect myself and he's hitting me, backing away."

The victim's daughter also heard the commotion.

Khales, 61, said the attacker ran into the darkness once he stumbled into the garage. His family came outside and called 911.

"My dad was just bleeding everywhere," daughter Shiva Khales said. "It was so scary."

Khales believes the attacker was after his car. He said police searched for the masked man, but did not find him.

Khales spent late Wednesday warning his neighbors to be on the lookout. He is also planning to beef up security.

"I have to be more vigilant," he said. "It's not just me, it's my daughter, my wife. It's scary. We're going to have cameras installed."
