A gunman in San Francisco shot and killed a 16-year-old boy late Saturday night.

Police said it happened at about 11:00 p.m. in the Silver Terrace neighborhood on Alemeny Boulevard, near Interstate 280.

According to officers, Clifton Chatman was shot at least once and killed.

Paramedics rushed a second victim to the hospital. He is in serious condition as of Sunday night.

One neighbor said she heard something that sounded like firecrackers going off.

"I didn't think much about it until i heard PD cars driving by," said Minerva, who did not want her last name identified. "I thought it was a car chase because we're close to the freeway, until I heard the ambulance and the fire truck."

Investigators are trying to determine if the shooting was gang-related.
