Victim Suffers Life-Threatening Wounds After Being Assaulted on San Jose Trail

A victim who was assaulted with a deadly weapon on San Jose's Guadalupe River Park Trail early Monday morning suffered life-threatening wounds, police said.

Security officers for a nearby business notified police that there was an injured person on the trail near Almaden Boulevard and Woz Way at 12:14 a.m., according to San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol.

The victim had suffered several lacerations in an altercation and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening wounds, Randol said.

The suspect or suspects have not been identified and are at large, Randol said. The investigation is ongoing.
