Video Claims to Show Oakland Police Officer Hiding Name with Tape

Police officers are prohibited from concealing their identity.

Earlier this week, twitter was abuzz with reports that police officers in Oakland were hiding their name tags with tape during the clash with protesters after Wednesday's general strike.

The tweets were unconfirmed, but a new video shows what appears to be a police officer who had tape over his uniform, something that is prohibited as a police officer, Business Insider reports.

When confronted by a man with a camera, it looks like the officer's superior had the tape removed. Watch the video below:

Oakland's general strike on Wednesday was mostly peaceful when about 7,500 people marched throught the city and shut down the Port of Oakland. But later that evening -- when the video claims to be filmed -- a splinter group broke off and started causing damage.
