Arizona Terror Suspect Mahin Khan Attacked by Inmates in Jail: Officials
Mahin Khan, 18, was assaulted by other inmates in an Arizona jail on July 2, according to authorities. He was arrested earlier this month on terror-related charges.

Authorities said the Arizona man arrested this month for allegedly planning a terror-related attack was assaulted in jail, NBC News reported.

Mahin Khan, 18, of Tucson, was attacked by other inmates in a Maricopa County jail on July 2 — the day after his arrest, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department.

Khan, who declined to be placed in segregation when it was offered, suffered “some minor non-life threatening injuries,” authorities said. He was moved to the segregated housing unit in Lower Buckeye Jail following the attack.

Police arrested Khan this month on terrorism-related charges linking him to a conspiracy targeting government buildings in two Arizona cities. He’s due back in court in Phoenix on Tuesday.
