Gay Priest May Become Bishop in Episcopal Church

A Chicago priest could become the first Gay Bishop in the Episcopal Church.
Rev. Bonnie Perry took one step closer to breaking a barrier in the Episcopal Church.
The Chicago priest, who is in a same-sex relationship, is one of three nominees for Bishop in Minnesota just three weeks after the church lifted a moratorium on selecting gay bishops.
The pastor told the parishioners of All Saints Episcopal Church in Ravenswood via a statement since she was on a trip out of the country, according to Chicago Breaking News.
"I pray that we will bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ that changes people's lives and proclaims the profound inclusivity and hospitality of God," the statement said.
This is the second nomination for Perry. She was a finalist for Bishop of California in 2005.
