McFadden, DHB Returning to Action

The Oakland Raiders' top 2010 draft picks have been impressive and disruptive forces on the defense so far this preseason.

The Oakland Raiders' top 2009 and 2008 draft picks have been resting in the hot tub or else sitting on the bench so far this preseason.

That's supposedly going to change today, Raiders head coach Tom Cable insists, as former first-rounders Darren McFadden and Darius Heyward-Bey return to the practice field for Tuesday Raiders practice.

McFadden has missed three weeks with a hamstring issue. Heyward-Bey has missed more than a week with a somewhat sissy-sounding case of fatigue.

"We’re getting a lot of those guys back," Coach Cable told the Oakland Tribune, "Like McFadden, Heyward-Bey, I don’t have the list in front of me right now but the majority of those guys will be back to work (Tuesday)."

One Raider not returning to work Tuesday? Chaz Schilens is probably having his knee scoped and is likely to miss the rest of the preseason, the Tribune reports.

For McFadden, this means we can expect to see his 2010 Raiders debut Saturday night in Oakland in a preseason contest with the San Francisco 49ers.

Joe Kukura is a freelance writer who hopes no one tells Heyward-Bey that we're under a Severe Weather Alert lest he decide again that he will be too tired to practice.
