Report: A's Re-sign Outfielder Who Was Treated for Testicular Cancer

After missing the majority of the 2016 season due to treatment for testicular cancer, outfielder Andrew Lambo will stay in the A's organization.

The 28-year-old has signed a minor league deal with the A's, according to Baseball America.

Claimed off waivers from the Pirates on November 6, 2015, Lambo made the Opening Day roster, but appeared in one game in April for the A's in 2016 and got one at-bat.

Optioned to Triple-A on April 8, Lambo played in 56 games for Nashville where he hit .255/.321/.384 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 30 RBI.

But on June 21, the A's announced that Lambo underwent surgery for testicular cancer.

Just three months later, on September 26, the team announced that Lambo was cancer-free. He met the A's in Anaheim and took batting practice.

"I feel great. I honestly feel better than ever," Lambo said in September, according to MLB.com.

In 60 games over four season, Lambo is hitting .189/.230/.295 with one home run and three RBI.
