Sharks Make Significant Cuts to Training Camp Roster

The Sharks made their most significant cuts to date in training camp, reducing the roster to 31 players.

The most notable player reassigned to the Barracuda was 24-year-old Marcus Sorensen, a speedy winger that was expected to challenge for a roster spot. The forwards that remain with the Sharks include Nikolay Goldobin, Barclay Goodrow, Micheal Haley, Kevin Labanc, Timo Meier and Alex Shoenborn. Meier is out for approximately one month with mononucleosis.

On defense, the players that remain other than the expected top six include Dylan DeMelo, Tim Heed, Dan Kelly and Mirco Mueller.

Kelly and Troy Grosenick were reportedly waived on Monday, but both are still on the roster. Aaron Dell is now officially second on the goalie depth chart behind Martin Jones.

The Sharks resume practice on Tuesday after a day off on Monday. For an updated roster, click here.
