Bay Area Startup Liquidity Creates Water Bottle with Filter

A Bay Area startup has created a water bottle filter that turns dirty water clean and drinkable.

The "Naked Filter" produced by Liquidity Nanotech may also be the antidote for expensive, wasteful water bottles.

The company said it is constantly testing its filters, which will turn risky, germ-infested water into clean water.

Americans buy about 30 billion bottles of water each year. Liquidity said 70 percent of those bottles will not be recycled.

Liquidity has nearly 1,700 backers and has raised nearly $80,000 on Kickstarter to create the Naked Filter. The startup had a goal of raising $40,000.
