David Perry and Benjamin Leong talk about the Rainbow Honor Walk in San Francisco's historic Castro district. (Published Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015)

Located in San Francisco's historic Castro district, the Rainbow Honor Walk seeks to honor heroines and heroes of the LGBT community through a sidewalk tribute to honor their contributions.

The Walk is also an attraction at the annual Castro Street Fair every first Sunday of October. The Castro Street Fair is a community street celebration that was founded by Harvey Milk in 1974. Hundreds of local artists, craftspeople, vendors and organizations line the streets to celebrate the diversity of the Castro.
