5/21-5/23: Celebrating the DIY Mentality

OK Go with Sadowsky's famous contraption.

If you enjoy doing things with your own hands, then this weekend is your celebration. The annual Maker Faire returns Saturday and Sunday at the San Mateo County Event Center to celebrate the do-it-yourself mentality.

The family friendly event has something for everyone including hands on crafts and art exhibits. And if you need something a little more hurt pumping, the YouTube sensations that are OK Go will be performing on the solar stage Sunday at 5 p.m. at the festival.

OK Go a bit too young to get your heart racing? Then how about take a trip back to your teenage years and spend an afternoon with "It's Your Move" actor Adam Sadowsky at the faire. The former child star has since retired from acting to become an entrepreneur, whose greatest call to fame is that he designed the Rube Goldberg machine used in OK Go's video "This Too Shall Pass." So maybe you can't get away from them.
