1/17: MLK Day & Punk Rock Sideshow

There are many memorial services, eductational venues and opportunities to volunteer around the city today. Here's one at the Contemporary Jewish Museum.

"Free admission and special activities for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
In honor of MLK Day of Service, enjoy free entry to the Museum where you can explore the exhibition Black Sabbath: The Secret Musical History of Black Jewish Relations, create visual poems of your dreams, and be recorded in live interviews sharing your vision for a better tomorrow.
TIME: 11 AM – 5 PM (art poem activity from 1-3 PM); COST: FREE."

Punk Rock Sideshow at Hemlock Tavern expires on 1/31, so get on your horse.

"We are at the Hemlock Tavern every Monday night from 10-2pm. We have early punk shows from 8-10pm occasionally too. Some free some not. Check our caleder for info. The resident DJ's are DJ Tragic and the Duchess of Hazard and we have been doing it for about 5 years. We also show movies and have drink specials."
