The Griswolds have grown up!
Leslie Mann is in negotiations to play Audrey Griswold in New Line's "Vacation" sequel, a source confirms to E! News. The actress will join previously announced cast members Christina Applegate and Ed Helms. Charlie Day and Chris Hemsworth are also in talks with the studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will make their directorial debut with the film. Shooting is scheduled to start next week in Louisiana. Mann would play Audrey Griswold, who was played by Dana Barron in the 1983 original. Audrey is married to an anchorman named Stone Crandall (Hemsworth).
Helms will play Rusty Griswold, a role made famous by Anthony Michael Hall in the original John Hughes comedy. Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins have been tapped to play his sons. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, who played Clark Griswold and Ellen Griswold, have agreed to reprise their roles.
In the sequel, Rusty takes a family trip similar to the one he took as a boy.
There have been four films in the series so far: "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), "National Lampoon's European Vacation" (1985), "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (1989) and "Vegas Vacation" (1997).
Ethan Embry, Johnny Galecki, Hall and Jason Lively previously played the role of Rusty. Barron, Dana Hill and Juliette Lewis previously played the role of Audrey.
Chase and D'Angelo appeared in all four movies.
