Gilt Groupe is expanding beyond limited-time flash sales and launching Gilt MAN, a full-price, full-time men's site in July 2011.
According to WWD, the site will feature between 75 and 100 brands "similar" to what's been featured on the site. (We assume that they'll be culled from a roster of current and previously featured labels.)
While the Gilt camp is mum on naming names at this point, we're eagerly following the story to see if those designer collaboration rumors have anything to do with this latest development.
Gilt co-founder and CEO Kevin Ryan also told WWD that the company would be launching one more full-time site next year, but didn't specify whether that meant women's, home, travel, or children's -- all of which now enjoy well-clicked sales.
The new model marks an interesting evolution for the red-hot e-tailer, who seems to be putting down roots in the permanent e-commerce arena after blazing what turned out to be the extremely lucrative trail of online flash sales.
Whether they can sustain the success over a whole season as they have with stints lasting a few days at a time will be interesting to see.
