The chain has yet to comment, but WWD reports that classic, apparel-driven department brand Lord & Taylor is poised to open it's first full-priced outpost in a decade.
The forthcoming Ridge Hill, Yonkers shopping complex location (slated to open 2011 with L&T reportedly opening in spring 2012) is a full-priced follow-up to a Fifth Avenue flagship renovation and profitable outlet openings at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, New Jersey and Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Despite the fact that market and fellow midtown storefront competitor Saks Fifth Avenue was originally set to occupy the space (they pulled out post-leasing letter of intent), neighboring storefronts including Whole Foods, L.L. Bean, and Sephora indicate that this move will be a smart one.
