Pedestrian killed in Santa Clara car crash, police say

Police are trying to identify the woman who was killed and ask anyone with information to reach out to 408-615

A car collision left a pedestrian dead in Santa Clara early Sunday morning, according to police. 

In a statement, the Santa Clara Police Department said it happened at around 1:27 a.m. on Lawrence Expressway and Monroe Street. 

The woman was in the crosswalk when the car hit her, according to the department.

Police said the driver stayed on-site and cooperated with officers, adding that neither drugs or alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash. 

Police are still trying to identify the pedestrian and have asked for the public’s health. If anyone has information about the collision or who the woman might be, they’re asked to reach out to the 408-615-4794 or to the department’s anonymous tip line at 408-615-4847.
