About 6,300 Customers Without Power in Bay Area as Storm Lingers

Utility officials said about 6,300 customers in the San Francisco Bay Area Sunday night were without power because of the rainstorm that moved into the area Thursday night and is forecast to linger into Monday.

As of 9:30 p.m. most of the outages were in the Fremont and Newark areas where about 4,300 customers were in the dark.

On the Peninsula, 478 customers were without power, PG&E officials said. In the South Bay, 401 were without electricity and in San Francisco 326 were without power. In the North Bay, 158 were without electricity.

The storm knocked out power to 164,776 Bay Area customers since Thursday, PG&E officials said.

The officials did not say when power to all customers would be restored.
