Blaine Gabbert Is Coming to SF

One of the top rated quarterbacks in the draft is coming to San Francisco. For a visit.

The 49ers will reportedly host Missouri's Blaine Gabbert at its Santa Clara headquarters, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

Most mock drafts have Gabbert being picked before the 49ers draft at No. 7. But after topping early mock drafts, Gabbert has seen his stock drop slightly.

Most pundits have him landing with the quarterback-starved Cardinals but the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows points out that beat writers who cover Arizona don't see the team picking Gabbert, which could open the door for the Tom Condon product to slip to the 49ers.

Harbaugh has gotten an up close look at Gabbert before. The Missouri quarterback did not throw at the combine but Harbaugh was in attendance at his pro day in March.

And the 49ers know Gabbart's agent well. Condon also represented the last quarterback the 49ers drafted in the first round. His name was Alex Smith.
