Concord Police Catches At-Large Parolee in Walnut Creek

Concord Police officers captured a missing parolee at 1:22 p.m. on Sunday in Walnut Creek.

They asked the public for help in finding the parolee at-large via social media on Saturday, and within 24 hours, police were able to capture the parolee.

Police said the parolee, James G. Beldin, who is on Parole for committing lewd acts is a sex registrant.

He was wanted in connection to a case that occurred on Friday when he reportedly accosted a female and allegedly cut off a lock of her hair, police said. He smelled the woman’s hair in front of her and ran away. Police were unable to track Beldin because he had cut off his ankle monitor.

Afraid that he might accost more people, Concord Police put out a request on social media to get help in finding Beldin.

Beldin was caught by Walnut Creek police officers on Sunday when he was engaged in lewd behavior in the Newell Avenue and Broadway area of Walnut Creek, police said.

Beldin is being charged for multiple crimes and will be transported to Contra Costa County Jail, where he will be placed on no-bail Parole hold, police said.

Anyone with additional information on Beldin can contact Detective Josh Graham at 925-603-5864, or the Concord Police Department at 925-603-5836.
