As Oakland hosts a parade Tuesday for the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, there will be street closures and traffic delays in and around downtown Monday and Tuesday, AC Transit officials said Saturday.

Transit service will be affected in areas bordered by Grand Avenue to the north; Martin Luther King, Jr. Way to the west; 8th Street to the south; and Lakeshore Avenue to the east.

Many bus lines will be detoured, and riders should check the AC Transit website, www.actransit.org, to find schedules and temporary bus stops.

Since many AC Transit bus lines start, transfer, or end service in downtown Oakland, the agency plans to install a temporary transit center at Castro Street between 12th and 17th Streets.

Downtown Oakland riders requiring transportation to the Castro Temporary Transit Center should look for the Broadway shuttle buses.
