Sonoma State University was recognized with two top ten rankings for their registered nursing and graduate programs, the university announced Friday.

Sonoma State's Department of Nursing has been ranked number five in the state out of 126 similar programs, according to registerednursing.org.

"We have highly dedicated and hard-working students as well as faculty in this program," said Mary Ellen Wilkosz, chair of the nursing department in a statement.

The nursing program scored 98 out of 100 possible points based on the "pass rates" of students taking the NCLEX-RN exam, the test used cross the country to assess nursing students.

They were also ranked number ten by nursingdegrees.com among colleges and universities in the state that offer graduate degrees in nursing online.
