Teenage Boy Wounded in Crossfire Near Antioch High School

A 14-year-old boy was injured when he was apparently caught in the crossfire of a shooting near Antioch High School Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers found the boy suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound around in the 1400 block of Sycamore Drive around 3:10 p.m., according to police.

He was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

Police said the boy was not involved in any dispute and appears to have been caught in the crossfire.

No other gunshot victims were located but several cars in the area were also struck by stray bullets, according to police.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and an investigation is under way.
