A dump truck’s engine caught fire while it was inside the Caldecott Tunnel early Friday.
Reported around 12:30 a.m., the fire caused major damage to the big rig and a wall of the East Bay tunnell.
It prompted the closure of two bores, which have since been reopened, officials say.
The driver, who stepped out of the vehicle to inspect the flames, was not hurt. No one else was injured.
