Cal Uses Earth Day as Fundraising Tool

Drive away a new Chevy Volt, and support at-risk youth.

Cal's Haas School of Business is holding a raffle in an around Earth Day. The winning ticket will get a very green Chevy Electric Volt.

The raffle is a fundraiser for Young Entrepreneurs at Haas or YEAH, which is a program that helps low-income students between 6th and 12th grades who hope to be college bound.

The students big push day to sell the tickets happened Saturday at the Haas School of Business Courtyard. The car was on display of course.

YEAH is a self-supporting youth mentoring program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. The program puts economically disadvantaged youth on the college-bound track. It has a 100-percent success rate in sending under-resourced Bay Area youth to college, according to Haas.

YEAH founding board member David Eckles donated the car.

The tickets will be on sale through May 5. They cost $50. For more information visit or click on this link.
