A California Highway Patrol officer was injured in an accident on Monday on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo.
The accident took place around 10:21 a.m. and involved a CHP motorcycle and a Volkswagon.
The CHP officer sustained major injuries but was not in a critical condition, the agency said. The other driver is uninjured. The CHP officer is still being treated on the scene.
Two southbound lanes are closed and there’s no word on when those two lanes will be reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
