Napa residents and emergency workers can now access Comcast's Xfinity WiFi hot spot network for free, after the Internet provider elected to open up access to all in the days following the quake, according to reports.

The San Francisco Chronicle notes that on Monday -- until "midnight Tuesday" -- users could sign in for WiFi on the "xfinitywifi" network.

Hour-long sessions could be renewed after customers chose the "California Earthquake Recovery" option from a drop-down menu list, the newspaper reported.
