Concord High Mourns Senior Slain in SF

Well-liked, hard-working student killed in Bayview

Montreal Blakely, a senior and football player at Concord High School, was shot and killed in San Francisco's Bayview on Saturday night, according to reports.

 The school mourned the passing of the 17-year old on Monday, according to the San Francisco Appeal online newspaper. He was shot in the unit block of Osceola Lane at 10 p.m. Saturday and transported by a friend to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was declared dead, the newspaper reported.
 
He was a starting defensive back on the football team and a "great teammate," his former coach said. He was well-liked, worked hard, and "got really good grades," said another coach.
 
A vigil for the boy is planned for 7 p.m. Friday at the school's football field.
 
No suspects were identified. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects.
