‘Hot Cop of Castro’ to Stand Trial for San Francisco Hit-and-Run Crash

NBC Bay Area

A San Francisco police officer — dubbed on social media as the "Hot Cop of Castro" — has been ordered to stand trial in connection with a crash in North Beach that left two men with serious injuries.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports 39-year-old Christopher Kohrs faces two felony counts of hit and run for the November 2015 incident.

Kohrs originally faced two counts of hit and run causing injury, but had one count increased to hit and run causing serious permanent injury.

Police say Kohrs was driving on a road when he slammed his car into two men, both in their 40s, who were crossing at night. Police say he then ran away from the scene.

Kohrs turned himself in about eight hours after the incident.
