A police manhunt locked down a Sacramento neighborhood near Mack and Franklin roads Wednesday after a 12-year-old boy assaulted an officer and then ran away.
Sacramento police said the boy hit the officer in the face with some kind of foreign object during an attempted arrest.
A police dog later caught up with the boy and bit him, police said.
Detectives said the officer was responding to a tip about possible prowlers in the neighborhood.
Two teens were arrested at the scene.
It is not known how serious the bite injury is to the child.
