The San Jose Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one man dead early Thursday morning.
Police and firefighters responded to reports about a vehicle crashing into a tree on Curtner and New Jersey Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered a man trapped inside the car. It took about five minutes for first responders to get him out before pronouncing him dead at the scene.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved but it is believed speed may have been a factor, officials said.
