San Francisco Real Estate Developers Push for Taller High-Rises

The Mid-Market area of San Francisco has been a hotbed of high-rise building construction for the last few years, and if real estate developers get their way, the towers are about to get even higher.

According to San Francisco Business Times, a new developer called Align Real Estate has filed paperwork to propose construction of a 250-foot residential building at 30 Otis Street (at the corner of Otis and South Van Ness Streets).

In a separate project, two 400-foot towers are already scheduled to be erected on top of an auto dealership on the next block, so Align has also submitted two proposals to create a building that would be either 483 or 600 feet.

San Francisco's Planning Department has been considering allowing developers to build higher in the Mid-Market area since May, so the city skyline could continue to disappear in a battle for great heights.
