SJPD Investigate First Homicide of 2009

San Jose police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2009.

A man was found dead in the driveway of a San Jose home Monday night.

The shooting was reported at about 11:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of  Glen Amador Court, Jermaine Thomas said.

Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and arriving officers  found the man in the driveway of a home, according to Thomas, who said the  victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information was available  as of 6:45 a.m., Thomas said.

Although the cases are not related, San Jose police are also looking for a suspect who fired shots into the front door of an occupied house Saturday night.

Three people were in the home in the 700 block of West Hedding  Street around 10 p.m. when an unknown suspect or suspects fired rounds into  the front door of the home.

The bullets did not penetrate the outside of the house and none of  the people inside the home was injured, Thomas said.

Investigators have not determined detailed suspect information,  Thomas said.
